What Is A Neck Lift?

Neck Lift

We are often so busy staring at our faces
for signs of wrinkles that we fail to notice the sneak attack happening just below our chins.  As Nora Ephron says on page 5 of her bestselling book, I Feel Bad About My Neck, “According to my dermatologist, the neck starts to go at forty-three, and that’s that.  You can put makeup on your face and concealer under your eyes and dye on your hair, you can shoot collagen and Botox and Restylane into your wrinkles and creases, but short of surgery, there’s not a damn thing you can do about a neck. Our faces are lies and our necks are the truth...More on Neck Lift Surgery

Mid-Face Lift – A Scar Free Facelift

It wasn’t until the last decade or so that the middle of the face started getting some real attention in the world of plastic surgery.  It seems amazing to think of it now, but cosmetic surgery didn’t offer any targeted techniques to address sagging cheeks and the loss of volume between the corners of the eyes and the corners of the mouth until the mid 1990s.  Before that time, cosmetic facial surgery had answers for the forehead and eyelids with procedures such as eye lifts and brow lifts, and jaws and necks were rejuvenated with traditional facelifts and neck lifts.  Essentially, 30 percent of the face was being ignored! …More on Mid-Face Lift

Achieving Facial Symmetry with Chin Augmentation

chin augmentation
They say that beauty is in the eye of beholder, but when it comes to facial beauty, scientists have actually narrowed the definition of beauty down to something much more measurable – symmetry. By studying photos of faces and ranking them from least attractive to most attractive, researchers found that the perception of beauty increased as the symmetry of facial features increased.

One of the most measurable facial features is the symmetry between the projection of the chin and the projection of the forehead. More on Chin Augmentation

More Side Effects from Restylane

Some women have complained about a darkening of the skin after using Restylane.   Although reported cases are minimal, it is also a Restylane side effect.

According to DocShop.com on thousands of clinical applications, Restylane related complications have a very low rate of occurrence. Some common, but not severe, Restylane side effects include redness, swelling, tenderness, itching, slight bruising, and other minor discomfort at the injection site, but these side effects tend to disappear within days or hours of the procedure.

Restylane Side Effects

Restylane on your laugh lines

For most women this is one of the areas they want to start with, I know it was for me.    I have since had Restylane treatments on other areas of my face that are more sensitive.    Hopefully the doctor who does your laugh lines is great but if not, at least it was not a crucial area, like under your eyes.   That’s another reason to start Restylane on your laugh lines.    The relationship with your doctor is of utmost importance.   If he or she does not listen to you, I mean really listen to you, you’ll most likely be dissapointed.    At about $600 to $700 per cc cost for Restylane treatment you want a doctor who is attentive to your requests.   My two cents.
